Long tail theory and web 2.0

Actually long tail theory was valid before we entered the web 2.0 Age. For examples, grocery stores rely on the big amount of sale to make profit, while some luxury car manufacturers can still survive by selling only several hundred of cars. At this point I do not think long tail theory is directly related to web 2.0.

Yuepu, I'm a bit confused with your position. Your title seems to suggest that the Long Tail theory is relevant in Web 2.0. But, the last statement of yours suggests otherwise.

It will be more helpful if you can provide links to resources that support your claim.

Dr. Chen. You are right. I think I need to change the title of this post. Regarding the link, I did not reference any business report. so it just reflects my own opinions. Do you want me to collect data and run statistical analysis to justify my argument?

Providing justifications to your position will be helpful to your readers. If you know of existing research papers and articles that support your claim, link them in the blog will be sufficient.

In general, it's a good idea to link the source of your discussion even if the text is written in non-English language. You should also make clear that which part of your writing comes from the source translation and which part is your own opinion.

We will talk more about blogging in the class. Good work Yuepu.
